The only tricky part is staying upwind- the little tail fins on SUPs just don’t have the grip and drive to handle all that wind power. So what to do? Simply add a Slingshot sUPWINDer to your board!
The sUPWINDer is a removable center fin that glues onto the bottom of your board. Just pop it on a bit forward of the standard tail fin, and your board will instantly track better, go straighter, and you’ll even be able to go upwind with a bit of practice. If you want to go back to regular paddle mode, you can simply remove the fin, and the sleek, low drag fin box stays on the board, ready to go for the next time the wind comes up.
Mounting position varies by board, but putting the sUP WINDer somewhere between the mid point of the board and the back 1/3 of the board, right on the centerline, will give you the best performance. Slingshot recommends 75cm forward of the tail fin, center to center. Read and follow all directions prior to mounting your sUP WINDer.
